Poetry Slam Africa - Gran Slam 2025

The Poetry Slam Africa Festival is a celebration of the rich voices and stories that make up the vibrant African poetic landscape. Established in 2008, Poetry Slam Africa has been the forerunner in providing a platform and recognizing performance poets for their ability to put out conscious works that are stage-worthy and that speak about issues affecting young people in Africa. The Grand Slam is a culmination of 3 preliminary events curated in 2024 from which the 10 contestants were drawn. The event seeks to crown the 66th Slam Africa Champion and act as a national qualifier for the World Poetry Slam Championships.
