Trails Of Africa dawn by Rahab Shine

We are delighted to present a new solo exhibition by Rahab Shine. Her journey as an artist began in 1990 after meeting Shine Tani. The two later founded Banana Hill Art Gallery, a place that has welcomed artists and art lovers for many years. Rahab works with a clear sense of observation. She paints landscapes as they appear today, holding on to scenes that are slowly shifting with constant development. Her pieces carry a quiet sense of care for places that deserve to be remembered. You are invited to visit the gallery and spend time with her work. The show will run throughout December and into the new year.

Direction to the Gallery:
From Village Market join Limuru Road. After 13km turn left down a tarmac road, signposted "Zereniti", continue for 200m, keep left and follow the dirt road (ignore the tarmac road climbing sharply right), after 50m take the right smaller track, signposted "Zerenity". Red Hill Art Gallery is located at the end of the track on the left side (red metal gate with art design) Karibu! The gallery is open daily from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm. The exhibition is on show until 5th January 2026

Wahenga wa Sanaa: Tracing two centuries of artistic legacy 1800 – 1980. Wahenga wa Sanaa brings the NMK collection into public view, tracing powerful themes of cultural identity, spirituality, history and politics, nature and environment, and the growth of formal art training and supporting institutions. The exhibition honours the Wahenga - the wise ancestors and cultural forebearers whose creativity laid the foundation for generations of artists. As we create art today, we walk in their footsteps and continue to build on their enduring legacy.

In our last show of the year, we are delighted to present for the first time at Circle Art Gallery the work of Engadaye Lemma (Ethiopian, b. 1980) alongside Tiemar Tegene (Ethiopian, b. 1994), in a dual exhibition titled We Belong to Time. Tegene is no stranger to Circle, having held her acclaimed debut solo exhibition Shertan Weha here in 2023.
